Chase has always had an active lifestyle. As a teen, he played baseball but preferred more extreme sports like skiing. His desire for intensity is one of the many reasons he was drawn to CrossFit — a form of training he began while preparing to serve in the military. Soon after the introduction, he decided to open his own box and took the necessary steps to make it happen.

"Fitness has alway been an integral part of my life and I built Ardent Fitness to not only be a gym, but to help individuals find their most powerful self through personalized fitness programs. The coaches, culture, and community here continue to impress me every single day. I feel extremely lucky to get to be a part of so many journeys."

Sarah is a former gymnast, competitive cheerleader, and GIJO (Gymnastics of Illinois Junior Organization) athlete. As an adult, she began CrossFit after a fateful drop-in session which changed the way she viewed training. She became obsessed with it and wanted to use everything she learned to help others. “My favorite thing about coaching is seeing each member improve themselves on a day-to-day basis. Everyone is constantly gaining new skills, getting stronger, and becoming more confident in their own skin.”

Sarah’s always had a competitive spirit. Over the years, she has played numerous team sports and run her fair share of 5Ks and half marathons. But when she needed to get into serious shape, she turned to CrossFit. After having her first child, it was the best and most logical option. Since then, she’s continued her training, participated in several CrossFit competitions, and become a certified coach.

“I am passionate about staying active and living a healthy lifestyle. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge with others to help them with their fitness journey. I am very fortunate to have the flexibility in my schedule to do this job and be a part of the CrossFit Algonquin community.”

John Bender

John Bender

Coach

John is a big advocate of getting up and moving. He has a diverse background in athletics, ranging from playing baseball, football, basketball, wrestling, and hockey. John joined Ardent Fitness in 2019, bringing his passion to help others succeed in living healthy lifestyles and living without pain.

“When you share in someone’s fitness journey, there’s a lifelong bond between each other. I was drawn to Ardent because of the passion our coaches have for our members. Our culture and vision are what helps guide our members on their journeys to a healthy lifestyle long into their lifetimes.
